The Health Sciences community is invited to participate in a social media campaign, #IAm61传媒tvHealth, to celebrate and showcase the diverse backgrounds throughout the Health Sciences campuses.

Art in Percival Hall

As part of the their efforts to make a more diverse and inclusive community, the Division of Forestry and Natural Resources will reinvent the hallways of Percival Hall by creating a mural that generates an atmosphere of inclusion, inspires students to envision a future that embodies diversity and fosters meaningful conversations and spaces where community can be built.

Athletics Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee

Athletics developed and initiated its own Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee which consists of head coaches, assistant coaches, staff members and student-athletes.

Awareness Video: Reporting Hate Crime and Bias Incidents

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology is collaborating with the Morgantown citizen group 鈥淒ismantling Racism Together鈥 to produce a short training video on learning to see and report hate crimes and bias incidents.

鈥楤lack at 61传媒tv鈥 Oral History Project

The 鈥淏lack at 61传媒tv鈥 Oral History Project is an effort to capture the lived experiences of Black people who are students, staff and/or faculty members at 61传媒tv.

Campus and Community Life serves the entire student body providing a variety of services, including the Student Advocacy Center, which includes Student Legal Services, a Student HelpLine and programs for commuter and non-traditional students.

The Center for Black Culture provides support to 61传媒tv students, faculty and staff 鈥 particularly African and African American Mountaineers and Mountaineers of color. They provide our community with an educational, social and cultural support system that is unique to the African World experience.

The Center for Veteran, Military and Family Programs offers a variety of programs and services for veterans and military families focused on ensuring academic success, career development, promoting overall well-being and supporting them in their transition from military life into college life.

A collaborative group across 61传媒tv is planning to bring the program 鈥淎 Long Talk About the Uncomfortable Truth鈥 by Decide2Inspire to 61传媒tv鈥檚 campus.

Over 100 places of worship representing over 30 denominations and faiths are available in the Morgantown area.

Council for Women's Concerns

The Council for Women's Concerns of 61传媒tv promotes equality of women in the academic and local communities. Among the Council's new initiatives is a Women of Color Committee.

DEI Council

The chair of each college-level diversity, equity and inclusion committee across the 61传媒tv System serves on DEI Council, an overarching group to develop goals, best practices, and ensure that we, as Mountaineers, are creating the safe, diverse and welcoming community we all deserve.

Dentistry Exhibit

The School of Dentistry will create an art exhibit that fosters inclusivity, supports underrepresented groups and promotes diversity.

Diversity Week

Diversity Week is designed to create an atmosphere that provides the 61传媒tv community opportunities to explore different cultures, engage in discussions that bring new perspectives and celebrate the presence of, and contributions made by, people of all identities and experiences.

Engineering Sciences Prayer Room Remodel

Supported by a challenge grant from the Office of the Provost, the prayer room in Engineering Sciences will be remodeled with a wall-to-wall rug, fresh paint and new signage. Educational resources will be added to explain the significance of prayer for Muslims and garner respect for this space.

Faculty Justice Network

The FJN was developed to create and maintain an inviting and supportive virtual and physical space for racialized and minoritized faculty that is responsive to their unique social, cultural, academic and professional development needs and interests.

Halal Meals at 61传媒tv Dining

Caf茅 Evansdale, Summit Caf茅 and Hatfields offer Halal meals every day by request. Ask a dining hall manager for a halal meal and it will be ready within in few minutes.

Health Sciences Diversity Action Plan

On Nov. 30, 2020, Health Sciences Center Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Leadership announced a number of specific action items to ensure the Health Sciences community and programs embody a culture of inclusive excellence.

Health Sciences Diversity Committees

Through a partnership with 61传媒tv鈥檚 Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, committees were formed at each of the five Health Sciences schools, as well as a cross-cutting committee and an oversight committee, all comprised of students, staff, faculty and administrators.

The LGBTQ+ Center provides programming and academic resources for 61传媒tv students, faculty, staff and community members, as well as a warm, comfortable atmosphere for organizing, socializing, teaching and learning.

Multicultural Graduation Celebration

This annual ceremony highlights, honors and commemorates the achievements of underrepresented students. Participating graduates receive a stole to wear over their graduation robe during the official commencement ceremonies.

National Pan-Hellenic Council

61传媒tv is proud to have seven active chapters of the nine international organizations of the National Pan-Hellenic Council. Each of these fraternities and sororities is rich in history; ties to one or more of these organizations are found in many college-educated Black families in the U.S.

Office of Accessibility Services

The Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) is dedicated to enhancing the educational opportunities for students with temporary and permanent disabilities at all 61传媒tv System campuses.

Office of Global Affairs

Through comprehensive and strategic internationalization, the Office of Global Affairs strives to prepare globally-minded graduates who are prepared to excel as part of an increasingly global workforce.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at 61传媒tv

OLLI at 61传媒tv promotes curiosity, exploration, discovery, and discussion through social and intellectual engagement in non-credit classes, lectures, field trips and events designed for older adults.

Potomac State College Diversity Coordinator

Potomac State's part-time diversity coordinator oversees the College's Diversity CARE Committee and works closely with 61传媒tv Morgantown's Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Purinton House Art Installation

The Office of Global Affairs will create an interactive and collaborative art installation that will provide a space for displaying mementos from around the world and provide important and relevant information about Morgantown to newer members of the community.

Social Justice Committee

The 61传媒tv Tech Social Justice Committee formed during the 2020-21 academic year and is comprised of students, faculty and staff.

Social Justice Council

The Social Justice Council at Potomac State College conducts monthly activities that bring the importance of diversity and inclusion to the forefront.

Statler College Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Awards

The Office of the Statler College Dean recognizes exemplary leadership that demonstrates putting the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion into practical action. Awards are presented annually to one staff member, one faculty member, one student and one student organization.

Student Family Resources provides a support system that can reduce family conflict, stress and risk factors, allowing 61传媒tv鈥檚 student parents to pursue and complete their studies.

The Quad LLC

The Quad Living-Learning Community (LLC) is a community housed in the Evansdale Residential Complex (Towers) where students of color will live with other students of color. This LLC focuses on the four areas of student development that are priorities at Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Hispanic Serving Institutions: cultural connections, engagement, academics and service.

Transgender ID Replacement Program

Supported by a challenge grant from the Office of the Provost, the LGBTQ+ Center will partner with Information Technology Services to cover the cost of replacing the 61传媒tv student identification card for transgender students to ensure the ID has the correct name and photo.

True Colors LLC

A safe, inclusive and comfortable community for students of all gender identities, sexual orientations and expressions, the True Colors Living-Learning Community (LLC) in Stalnaker Hall fosters empowerment, support and scholarly achievement. This community is designed for LGBTQ+ and ally students.

Women's Resource Center

The Women's Resource Center's goal is to empower women through on- and off-campus resources, engaging programs and by offering a safer, inclusive space for open discussions on gender equity.
